This dress was amazing! To me, comfort and functionality are huge factors when shopping, especially for a dress you’ll be wearing for hours and hours. This dress was not only beautiful, but it was comfortable to wear and relatively easy to walk in (despite how poofy it is)! At the end of the night, I still did not want to take it off!
My favorite part was the corset-style back because it releived me of so much of the stress so many brides have if their weight or size changes between the alterations and the actual day. I had lost some weight between buying it and getting alterations done and I asked if she could take it in a tiny bit extra in case I lost more. I didn’t have to worry about if I didn’t lose weight, though, because the corset allowed for so much wiggle room. It was great because the week of the wedding I was stress-eating like crazy, but at least knowing my dress would still fit was one less thing to worry about!
When I bought it, I was also surprised by how many ways the seamstress said she could modify it to be my perfect dream dress. For example, I was really uncomfortable with strapless at first. There is a lot of fluff on the back of the dress and she showed me this one small piece of fabric that could be taken off and turned into a sort of shoulder cap. I ended up not altering it much at all because I loved it so much, but the versatility also gave me peace of mind.
I know picking a dress is a monumental decision, so I want to be completely honest to anyone considering buying this wonderful dress: I took my shoes off at the reception and the bottom edges of the dress did get a bit dirty. I had the dress cleaned and they did what they could, but it did do a bit of damage. That’s why I included the photo of the just the edges of the material. Fortunately, it was only the very bottom that was affected, and I am taller than most women (dress with heels was about 6’ tall), so if you’re going to need it hemmed then the problem will be solved right there!
